Currently the following age groups are full & have started a waiting list.

Please take note: Players on the waiting lists are not guaranteed a spot for the season.

U10 - FULL.

U12 - FULL

U14 - limited spots remain.

Good Morning SBYSL Families

 

Registration for the Indoor Soccer Season is now OPEN!! Please register as soon as possible. SPOTS ARE FILLING FAST!!!! Our Fall 2022 players have had priority and we are down to limited spots in all age groups. Registration will close on Nov 13th or once we are full in all age groups.

 

It is very important you read the information below BEFORE registering for Indoor Soccer.

 

The Indoor Soccer Season will be played at the William J Myers Soccer Pavilion, 4300 West Bay Ave, Curtis Bay 21225

 

The season will start on Saturday, Dec 3, 2022 and end on February 25, 2023 (no games on Dec 24th and Dec 31st)

 

Registration fee for 2022/2023 Indoor season is $100

 

Indoor Soccer will be Co-Ed only.

 

We are opening Indoor Soccer to ages 6 & Up only – groupings will be based on age at 12/31/22

 

Age Groups are the following:

Co-Ed Under 8 = birth years 2015 & 2016

Co-Ed Under 10 = birth years 2013 & 2014

Co-Ed Under 12 = birth years 2011 & 2012

Co-Ed Under 14 = birth years 2009 & 2010

Co-Ed Under 18 = birth years 2005-2008

 

Game times will be:

U18 - 9am & 10 am – birth years 2005-2008

U8 - 11am & 12pm – birth years 2015-2016

U10 - 1pm, 2pm & (3pm) – birth years 2013-2014

U12 – (3pm), 4pm & 5pm – birth years 2011 – 2012

U14 - 6pm & 7pm – birth years 2009 – 2010

 

The Board agreed to have smaller teams this season. Each age group will have a very limited amount of spots, so register as early as possible. Once an age group fills, the group will be closed for registrations.

 

Before registering, please consider your child’s other activities and if there will be a commitment to play.

 

Our indoor soccer season is a very popular program. Please consider all the above before registering for your child. Registration will close on Nov 13th.

Greetings Coaches, Players and Parents!

Our 2022 Soccer Season is set to start on Saturday, Sept 17th! We are starting the season with over 570 players – ages 3-17!!! THANK YOU!!!

We are starting a week later this year due to the Maryland Fleet Week and Flyover Festivities. The event takes place Sept 7th to 13th. We hope you will be able to take part in the FREE and fun activities at the event. Go to www.visitmaryland.org for all the information.

The Fall 2022 Planning Committee worked very hard to make this season enjoyable for all our players. We have extended our Girls League to 3 age groups, focused on more fundamentals and skills building in our younger age groups and made smaller teams so all players have more advantages to engage in the game.

By now you should have heard from a Coach. If not, please contact the league!!

Your Coach has picked up uniforms and should be distributing them to you this week. All our players will be receiving a long sleeve black shirt as a player gift from the league. This can be worn under uniform jerseys when the weather starts getting cooler.

 

**OPENING DAY – SEPT 17, 2022***

All age groups will play on Saturday. Please note the following: 

The Locust Point Festival is also Saturday. The park will be filled with vendors and activities for the kids. Come before your game or stay after and enjoy the festival. 

The parking lot at Banner Field is off limits to SBYSL until 12 pm to allow the Vendors for the Locust Point Festival the space to park to unload for the festival. 

SBYSL will have a booth at the Festival! Darlene and Cindy will be manning the booth selling Walking Tacos! Stop By and Say Hi!

 

COVID-19:

This virus is still lingering. SBYSL is committed to the safety of our players and volunteers.

  • Please, if you or your child are not feeling well, STAY HOME
  • Players and volunteers have the option to wear masks on and off the field.
  • There will be no team huddles
  • Players should not be sharing water bottles, snacks or equipment
  • There will be no handshakes or high fives during & after games. At the end of each game teams will line up and acknowledge each other with “Good Game”
  • For our younger teams who do snacks – please make sure they are pre-packaged snacks and only 1 person distributing.

 

All Game Days:

Players should arrive 15 minutes prior to game time in full uniform (shirts, shorts, shin guards, socks and cleats (sneakers for our younger kids)), a bottle of water, and ready to play. SBYSL has hired someone to set up our fields in the mornings and to take down in the afternoons. However, we will need our Coaches, Parents and Players to assist in keeping our fields clean by picking up and disposing all trash after games.

Parking:

Parking is available along Andre Street (by the tennis courts), on the Parking Lot next to the Banner Field, and Decatur Street (along the street, on school parking lot and limited parking behind school). PLEASE DO NOT park on Latrobe Park Terrace (the small street along the park - the one closest to the fields). The residents have limited parking as it is, so we do not want to take up their parking.

Construction is ongoing at the housing development project on Decatur St. Please use caution when traveling on Decatur Street.

Concessions:

We do not have a food vendor, however we will be reaching out the Local School PTO's for fundraising opportunities for them.

 

Bathrooms:

The Locust Point Rec Center is supposed to be open on all our game days as well as the bathrooms in the field house close to Banner Field.

 

Fields Behind FSK:

This season you will notice some improvements FSK and their PTO have made to benefit their students and staff. We have a message from the school and PTO:

The FSK PTO is working to make improvements to the rear of the school. One of the first elements of that plan was to install eight large, blue umbrellas and a pergola on the "student picnic patio" on the blacktop behind the school. Students and teachers use that space to eat lunch outdoors and for shade during recess. Please be respectful of that space while you are engaged in SBYSL activities on the fields behind FSK. If you use the picnic tables, clean up your trash and take it with you, clean up any spills or food on the tables, and please put the umbrella shades down and close the draw strings so the umbrellas aren't carried off in storms or high winds that may come after your use. With your help, we can ensure a continued partnership with the school that allows us to use that space for our SBYSL families during their game times. Please be aware that picnics and meals are not encouraged as it is still school property and should be used only for very limited time periods before or after your game times. If you see any issues please report them to the FSK PTO at fsk076@gmail.com.

  7. NO CANOPY OR TENTS. (NO STAKING ANYTHING INTO THE TURF)
  8. NO METAL SPIKES AND/OR CLEATS
  9. NO BIKES OR STROLLERS
  10. DO NOT DRAG COOLERS, BLOCKING DUMMIES, OR ANYOTHER ITEMS ON THE FIELD.
  • DO NOT PICK OR PULL GRASS FIBERS OR INFILL MATERIALON FIELD.

Greetings SBYSL Families!!

We are close to Opening Day - Fall 2022!!

We want to host a clinic day for all our players on Saturday, August 20th at the Fields in Latrobe Park.

Saturday, August 20th:

Birth Years 2019, 2018 & 2017 - 9 am

Birth Years 2016, 2015, 2014 - 10 am

Birth Years 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 - 11 am

THIS IS NOT MANDATORY!!! We just want to offer something fun for the kids to get excited about the season.

Have them bring a ball, wear their shin guards and bring water to stay hydrated!

Our Fall Season will start on Saturday, September 17th and end on November 12th. We have a late start due to Baltimore hosting Fleet Week and the Naval Air Show from Sept 7th to Sept 13th.

 

We are a Co-Ed Recreation league open to ages 3 to 17 (Birth Years 2005 – 2019)

 

We are planning to have Girls’ Leagues in Birth Years 2005-2016 (leagues will be established based on registrations in age groups)

 

All games will be played at the fields in Latrobe Park on Saturdays.

We are looking for volunteers to help coach, assist coach, referee or be a part of our committees.
